Biography

Born in 1980, the half Austrian and half British Markus Wilkinson started producing electronic

music in the 1990's. Starting mainly with Trance, which is still his main focus, Markus has branched

out with several other styles. Markus loves fusion and has made so many songs that don’t have a

straight forward genre description, as many tunes don't these days.

It all started when Markus was just 2 years old. Listening to everything from Classical (which

was his mother’s biggest influence) to 80’s Pop (which his siblings would play). Dancing and

singing to all sorts of classics, Markus can be seen on home videos shaking it and loving the

music.

At the age of 8 he studied piano, learning Classical. As mentioned, from a young age Markus's life was all things entertainment including Music, Dance, Film & Video, Acting etc. Markus was always encouraged by his family, particularly his Mother and Father.

It wasn't until his college years, though, that he was introduced to the euphoric sound of Trance and its pioneers such as Paul van Dyk and Binary Finary to name just two.

Markus was also very into hip hop around this time. Focusing on the brilliant lyrical work of Tupac, Nas and the Notorious BIG among many others.

Markus’s abilities with Trance, House and Progressive grew significantly in the years following graduation. It was then that he took it upon himself to study Digital Audio Workstations (DAW's), turntablism and production and then instructed classes at a local entertainment business.

Since then Markus has studied Contemporary Music at the Canberra Institute of Technology (specialising in Composition & Engineering), DJ'd in most clubs around his home town of Canberra in the ACT and had a hand in promoting gigs for international DJ's for a another DJ's company.

Markus isn't limited to just playing with digital equipment though. He still plays piano and keyboard but has trained in drums and percussion, bass and vocal work too.

In the last few years Markus has really gotten involved with and enjoyed remixing. He has done tonnes of white label remixes. From Broken Wings by Mr Mister to Put Your Hands Up For Detroit by Fedde Le Grande and everything between. His remixes have caught the attention of many club owners and DJ’s. His YouTube hits are in excess of 1 Million on top of the thousands of hits received on his old website, Soundcloud etc etc.

Markus's most recent collaboration with Trance royal Daniel Kandi resulted in the track simply entitled "Cityscape". The song reached no. 5 on Beatport's Top 100 Trance list. The support list for Cityscape has been overwhelming! The list includes...

Armin van Buuren (A State of Trance), Dan Stone (Anjunabeats Worldwide), Andy Moor, Daniel Kandi, Giuseppe Ottaviani, M.I.K.E, Mark Sherry, Protoculture, Sied van Riel,Will Holland, Akira Kayosa, Dima Krasnik, Farid, Matt Bowdidge, Beat Service, Binary Finary, Chapter XJ,David Forbes, Dennis Sheperd, DJ Feel, Ferry Tayle, Jaco, Kaeno, Maarten De Jong, Manuel Le Saux,Mike Saint Jules, Neil Moore, Nick Arbor, Nuera, Ram, Robert Nickson, Shawn Mitiska, Signum,Sneijder, Suncatcher, Talla 2XLC, Thomas Heredia, Tygris, Heavens Gate and many more…

He will again be concentrating on Directing but also enjoys Camera work, Editing, Music and Sound production and, perhaps, Acting...as he loves getting into character!
